William Daniel Woods III, age 72, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. He was born on October 18, 1953, in Dayton, Ohio to the late William Daniel Woods and Mabel Lucille Keels Woods.

Bill had a lifelong love of music. He was a member of the Dayton Rotary Boys' Choir in middle school and continued singing throughout his years at Fairview High School, graduating in 1971. At the age of 10, he caught the "theatrical bug" and performed as a soprano soloist, singing "A Spoonful of Sugar" at Dayton Memorial Hall, bringing down the house. From that moment on, Bill sang whenever and wherever he could, participating in high school choirs and theatrical productions.

At Bowling Green State University, he sang with the Black Ensemble, continuing to nurture his passion for music. As an adult, he performed with the choir at St. Catherine's Episcopal Church in Marietta, Georgia and toured Europe several times.

Bill graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1975 and went on to build a successful career in sales. A consummate salesman, he began working with Fortune 500 companies such as Xerox and IBM, where he was consistently recognized as a high achiever. One of the most rewarding roles of his career was serving as an account sales manager for the Dallas Mavericks during their heyday in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He enjoyed building corporate relationships with organizations like American Airlines, AT&T, and Texas Instruments, among many others. Bill was known for forging connections that went beyond business—his clients often became lifelong friends.

Before his illness, Bill served as Director of Fund Development for the National Dental Association. In this role, he helped raise funds, implement advancements in information technology, and coordinate initiatives to elevate the organization's visibility and impact.

Bill was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed attending and watching football, baseball, and basketball games. He was a loyal fan of the Dallas Mavericks, the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also loved traveling the world, with a special fondness for Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Far East.

Those who knew Bill will remember his humor and his loud, infectious laugh. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend who truly enjoyed life. He will be deeply missed.

Bill is survived by his sons, Christopher Woods and Jayson Woods (Lauren); his sister, Dianne W. Davis (Rev. Robert L. Davis); his brother, Gregory L. Woods (Billi Ann); his granddaughter, Frances Julie Rose Woods; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on June 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Catherine's Episcopal Church in Marietta, Georgia, with Rev. Pat Miller officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the service time.
