Obituary

William Edward Smith Jr. aka "Bubba", age 84 of Hiram, GA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday morning at his residence.

A native of Austell, GA, Mr. Smith was born April 7, 1937, the son of the late Rosalyn and William Edward Smith Sr. He proudly served the United States Air Force and was a printer at Seiz printing before retiring to driving a bus for Paulding County Schools, Mt Paran school and local churches. He was preceded in death by two sons; Freddie Lee Cabrera born October 29, 1959, and Jeffrey David Smith born May 1, 1960.

He was known as a proud born-again believer who told everyone he met about Jesus! He served at Mt. Paran church as an usher and an elder. He went on many mission trips to South and Central America, Africa, and Scotland. He was active in Metro Bible study and LOVED to do street ministry with Dad Ellis. He was active in Evangelism Explosion for many years. He fell in love with foster care at Vintage 242 church and was involved in the REDs group (retired and extremely dangerous😊). He also started a monthly meeting with the men of his family. He enjoyed doing a podcast with one of his daughters called "So What Do You Think?" where he answered questions about the bible and what the Lord had done in his life.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Mrs. Helen English Smith, and their 8 children and spouses:

Eddie Smith, Cindy and Boyce Langley, Darryl Smith, Robert & Lorrie Cabrera, Darryl Cabrera, Robbie Strickland, Missy Cabrera, and Matt & Chanda Cabrera. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 1:00 pm at West Ridge Church in Dallas, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions be made to Fostering Hope at Vintage 242.
