William "Chan"
Chandler Whitlow Jr.
Mar 21, 1960 — Oct 22, 2020
Mr. William Chandler Whitlow Jr., age 60, of Hiram passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020.
A native of Atlanta, GA, Mr. Whitlow Jr., who was affectionately known as "Chan" and to his grandchildren as "Potts", was born at Atlanta's Crawford Long Hospital on March 21, 1960, the son of the late William Chandler Whitlow Sr. and Judith Lee Whitlow. He was a 1978 high school graduate of Headland High School of East Point, GA. Mr. Whitlow Jr. is a cherished part of his family and extended families of Deep South Divers of Newnan, Six Flags Over Georgia buddies, and kids (and parents) who he once coached.
He demonstrated the importance of enjoying life in the time while here on Earth. It's not the number of breaths you take but the number of moments that take your breath away. He was a coach, Pro Sports colleague, history buff, and dedicated Georgia Tech fan who enjoyed running 5Ks, festivals, and travel of any kind.
Mr. Whitlow Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Bill Whitlow in 2003.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Glynda Fraser Whitlow of Hiram, GA; children, Emily Elmore (William) of Acworth, GA, Trey Whitlow (Tiffany) of Dallas, GA, and Ryan Whitlow of Hiram, GA; mother, Judith Whitlow of Woodstock GA; grandmother, Carole Whitlow of Marietta, GA; sisters, Vicki Washington (Jim) of Miramar Beach, FL and Jenni Morton (Tony) of Dallas, GA; mother-in-law, Jackie Fraser of Peachtree City, GA; four grandchildren, Ansley Elmore, Lexton Whitlow, Logan Elmore, and Cambry Whitlow; a number of nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid19 and in consideration of the health of so many who want to participate, the family will host a celebration of his life tentatively on his birthday Sunday, March 21, 2021, with further details to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to a charity of your choice.
Bellamy Funeral Home of Hiram is honored to serve the family of Mr. William Chandler "Chan" Whitlow Jr. of Hiram, Georgia.
