Mr. William Bobby "Cooter" Slay, age 68, of Temple, Ga. died Friday evening at Grady Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

A native of Marietta, Georgia, Mr. Slay was born on June 24, 1953 the son of Rev. Bobby Joe and Jeanette Grier Slay. Prior to retirement, Mr. Slay was employed with the Sonoco Company. He enjoyed playing Scottish games, loved airplanes, and anything to do with a Volkswagon. He was married to the former Nancy Ann Adams who survives.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Nancy Ann Slay. Two sons; Gregory Scott Slay and Robert Craig Slay. His parents, Rev. Bobby Joe and Jeanette Slay. Two sisters; Carol King and Annette Culp. Seven grandchildren along with a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Slay will be conducted on Wednesday June 30, 2021 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Bellamy Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
