Tommy Padgett, age 89, of Powder Springs, Georgia  passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
He was born on January 14, 1937, in Powder Springs, GA to the late Mr. Joe Padgett and Mrs.Clara Morris Padgett. A lifelong resident of Powder Springs, Tommy cherished his hometown and the many friendships he built there throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Shirley Walters Padgett, who passed away on September 29, 2024.Tommy was known for his warm spirit, generous heart, and genuine love for people. He never meta stranger and treated everyone with kindness and respect. His favorite place in the world was home, where he and Shirley spent countless hours together on their back porch, sharing stories,enjoying Shirley's cooking, and welcoming anyone who stopped by. Their home was a gathering place where everyone felt welcome and no one left empty-handed. 

Together, they planted,preserved, and generously shared bushels of fresh vegetables with those around them, reflecting the kindness and hospitality that defined their lives.An avid outdoorsman, Tommy had a lifelong passion for fishing and was a proud member of the West Cobb Bass Club, where he earned numerous awards. He also owned and operated Tommy's Taxidermy, spending countless hours in his shop skillfully mounting deer heads and fish,combining his craftsmanship with his love of the outdoors.

Tommy was a gifted storyteller whose memories of life in Powder Springs entertained and connected generations of family and friends. Whether sharing a fishing tale, reminiscing about the community he loved, or simply offering a kind word and a friendly smile, Tommy made people feel welcome and valued. His kindness, humor, and unwavering friendship left a lasting impression everyone who knew him.

Above all, Tommy will be remembered as a neighbor to everyone. His life was a testament to the power of kindness, and his legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with his generosity.

Survivors include his sister, Irene Woodall and brother-in-law, Jack Woodall, of Littleton,Colorado, nephews, Bill Woodall of Denver, Colorado and Gary Woodall of Ann Arbor, Michigan,and niece, Alice Cook of Yorba Linda, California, and her children Shannon and Kate Cook; Godchildren, Denise and Ronny Little of Powder Springs, Ashley and Steve Smith of Cartersville, and Kayla Little of Dallas; Shirley’s brothers Wilson Walters (Sue) of Alabama, Larry Walters (Connie)of Hiram, and Jerry Walters (Karen) of Smyrna; a host of nieces and nephews from the Morris,Padgett, and Walter families; as well as his loving caregivers, including Tracy Elkins. He was preceded in death by his God child, Josh Little; and brothers-in- law, Bobby Walters (Bille Jean)and Harry Walters. 

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 11:00am from the Chapel of Bellamy Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Interment to follow at Morris Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Bill Woodall, Gary Woodall, Ronny Little, Bobby Eidson, Rusty Walker, and Rick Lindell.The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 12, 2026,from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
