Teresa Millsaps Townsend, age 66, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026. She was born on December 30, 1959 in Maryville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her her father, Joe Gilbert Millsaps Sr. and her grandchild, Sammy Evans.

Teresa, affectionately known as Treefrog, was known best for her love of God, her family, and all of her granddogs (Zoe, Dolly, Daisy and Rosie) She was a devoted daughter, sister, friend, wife and mother. She had the epitome of a mother's heart and was known as "Mama" to not only her two girls, but countless others whose lives she impacted. She has left such a legacy of love and has given her family the gift of a firm foundation of faith in God. Through every battle she faced, her faith in the Lord Jesus never wavered. She is going to be so dearly missed, but we take comfort that she has been reunited in heaven with her sweet grandson, Sammy. God, Family and Go Dawgs.

Surviving are her daughters, Melanie and Brandon Simpson and Felicia and Josh Evans; her mother, Charlotte Ruth Millsaps; a brother, Joe Millsaps Jr. and his wife, Trina; a sister, Mamie Brannon and her husband, Scott; a nephew, Johny Brannon and other nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Bellamy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior the service. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Lupus Foundation at Lupus.org.
