Obituary

Senior Chief Petty Officer, Chris Anthony Jones, transitioned from this life to the presence of the Lord on Saturday, June 5, 2021. He was born in Powder Springs, Georgia to Mrs. Lois Hightower Jones and the late Earley Lee Jones on October 2, 1952. He was the second of twelve children born to this union. He was preceded in death by his eldest brother, Jerry Lamar Jones, and younger brother, Daniel Webster Jones.

After graduating from Paulding County High School, he enlisted into the United States Navy (21 years). Upon retiring from the Navy, he attended Atlanta Culinary Art Institute and became "Chef Jones". He loved cooking, playing bass guitar and fishing. Chris was a very adventurous person who loved people, his children, grandchildren and family. He attended Smith Temple Church under the leadership of Bishop James P. Waters and later Mt Sinal Baptist Church under Elder Randy Vanzant. He had an overwhelming loving personality and enjoyed gathering with family enjoying delicious food, fun, and fellowship.

Family was the most important element to Chris and once he stated, "I've been all around the world and have never seen or found a family as close or as loving and forgiving as my own family." He loved life, laughing with friends and family, and will be greatly missed by his community, family and many friends.
