Mrs. Sondra L. McDonald age 78, went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Kennestone Hospital following a brief illness.

A native of New York, Mrs. McDonald was born on June 25, 1943 the daughter of the late Walter Quackenbush jr. and the late Nan Elizabeth Hammond. She was raised in Paterson, NJ and was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Lady of Alethia Order of the Eastern Star in Paterson, NJ.. She was also a Past Grand Daughter Ruler of the Elks Lodge. Later on, Mrs. McDonald moved to the state of Florida where she retired as a nurse for many years and finally moved to Hiram, Georgia to be closer to family. She was a member of the Gospel Nation Christian Fellowship Church to serve GOD who she considered the cornerstone of her life. Sondra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd McDonald who died on December 21, 1989.

Survivors include her daughters; Desiree McDonald, Michele McDonald, Sharon McDonald. Her sons; James McDonald, Charles Rainey and Step Son Floyd McDonald. One sister, Yvonne Smith. Two brothers, Timothy Kennedy and Daniel Quackenbush. Fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Celebration of Life services for Mrs. McDonald will be conducted on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Bellamy Funeral Home with her pastor, Rev. John Bailey officiating. Following the services on Saturday, Mrs. McDonald will be cremated.

The family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
