Mrs. Shirley Ann Hamby, age 77, of Powder Springs passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Mrs. Hamby was born on January 11, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Mr. Charles Reid and the late Mrs. Lulla Mae Tollison Reid. Shirley worked as a nursing aid for Wellstar Paulding Hospital and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Shirley was a devoted mother, beloved sister, and cherished grandmother. Shirley's memory will forever remain in our hearts. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Hamby.

Survivors include her sons, Scott Hamby of Powder Springs and Chris Hamby (Beata) of Raeford, N.C.; sister, June Rathbone (Ron) of Kennesaw; brother, Bobby Morrison; two grandchildren, Denis Guengoer and Christopher Hamby.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Hamby will be cremated and at this time there are no scheduled services.

Shirley's love and kindness touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
