Mr. Roger Allen Merrill, age 80, of Hiram passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022.

Mr. Merrill was born on March 18, 1942 in Lockwood, New York to the late Mr. Harold Merrill and the late Mrs. Sarah Dewitt Merrill Marble. Roger worked as a truck driver for many years. He was known as a loving gentleman and was an inspiration to many people of all ages. He was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and taught Sunday school. He was a Braves, Falcons, and Georgia Bulldog Fan. In addition to his parents, Mr. Merrill was also preceded in death by his son, Brian Merrill; sisters, Charlotte Dolittle and Mary Chilson; brother, Jim Merrill; son-in-law, Gary Matheney.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mrs. Mary Jane Merrill, three daughters, Gloria Matheney, Tina Wilborn (Ricky), and Monica Harper Plus a granddaughter he raised as his daughter from birth, Jennifer Kesel (Roger); two sons, Robert Merrill and Leon Merrill (Kandi); four sisters, Ellie Van Curen, Virginia Nichols, Margaret Wasielewski, and Harriett Baylor; brother, John Merrill; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 2:00pm from Pine Ridge Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Thomas and Bro. Leon Merrill officiating. Interment to follow at Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 5th from 6:00 until 8:00pm. Mr. Merrill will also lie-in-state at Pine Ridge Baptist Church on Saturday from 1:00pm until the service hour.

Pallbearers include Tim Davis, Matt Seals, Maesson Merrill, Dylan Sincerbeaux, Cameron Thomas, and Chandler Cowan.
