Obituary

Mr. Robert James Murray, age 64, of Douglasville passed away Monday, July 5, 2021.

Mr. Murray was born on October 11, 1956 to the late Mr. Junior F. Murray and the late Alice Martin Murray. He was retired from Eastman Kodak, where he worked in maintenance on heavy equipment. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, woodworking, and bowling. He loved the beach and vacationing with his family or just simply sitting on the porch watching his masterpieces bloom each season. He was a proud grandfather and enjoyed his role as a surrogate grandpa and cooked for the children at his wife's daycare. He was affectionately known as Mr. Robert and was very involved with watching the children grow and looked forward to the birth of his newest grand baby Riley Hatami. He was patriotic, loved his country, and working with his hands. He created American flags that he gifted to family, friends, and random police officers. He talked about his younger days in Holly, New York where he enjoyed working for Kodak and farming, but was most proud of being a father to his 3 children. He was a simple man with a big heart who purchased clothing, food, and bikes for neighborhood kids when he saw they had none. He loved holidays, Christmas movies, and old cowboy movies. He will be dearly missed by so many. You fought a hard battle and you put up a good fight. Till we meet again, you are loved.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Murray was also preceded in death by his son, Timothy "Timmy" John Murray; brothers, Dale Murray, Glen Murray, Doug Murray, Donnie Murray, Larry Murray, and Terry Murray.

Survivors include his wife of 8 years, Mrs. Nathalie Murray of Douglasville; sons, Todd Murray (Kate); daughter, Tricia Hatami (Esi) of Acworth; brother, Tim Murray of St. Pete, FL; brother-in-law, Ceasar Queen; father-in-law and his wife, Steve and Cherry Queen; former wife and the mother of his children, Patricia Murray; grandchildren, Rhett Hatami, Riley Hatami, Lia Murray, and Reagan Murray; aunts, nieces and nephews.
