Richard Eugene Bivens Jr., age 76, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025. He was born on July 24, 1949 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Richard Eugene Bivens Sr. and Evelyn Hackett Bivens. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Scott Bivens.

He was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service, serving three tours in Vietnam. Richard was a member of the Golden Knights Parachute Team. He also worked for Transportation Concepts over the years.

Surviving are his children, Tanya Hendrix ( Rodney), Kim Steffey, Jason Bivens (Kelly) and Joe Bivens (Elizabeth); a brother, Brent Bivens (Pam); grandchildren, Megan Meyer (Chris), Trey Hendrix (Bailey), Clint Hulsey (Ashleigh), Cory Hulsey (Kayla), Tony Perna, Madison Bivens, Landon Bivens, Cayden Bivens and Cayla Bivens; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Bellamy Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time. The interment will follow with military honors at 2:00 p.m. Friday from the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
