Mr. Raymond E. Foster, age 80, of Dallas, GA passed away Friday, January 3, 2025.

Mr. Foster was born on September 10, 1944 in Newburn, TN to the late Mr. William Robert Foster and the late Mrs. Hazel Williams Foster. Ray served in the Air Force in the Vietnam War. His rank was an airman first class and a paratrooper who was tasked with jumping out of an aircraft using a parachute behind enemy lines to save injured men. He was honorably discharged after being injured in service. For his service, he was awarded a Purple Heart. Along with his Purple Heart, he was also awarded a military merit medal, a unit good conduct award as well as an individual good conduct award. He was also awarded a Vietnam campaign ribbon. In his later life, Ray worked for Northwest Airlines and retired after 29 years of dedicated service. Ray was a kind and gentle man who enjoyed fishing, country music, Hallmark Movies, and spending time with his family. He was a faithful man and a member of Church on The Word. In addition to his parents, Mr. Foster was also preceded in death by his son, Timothy Mark Kistler.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carol B. Foster; sisters, Jewel True and Mary Doyle; daughter-in-law, Judy Kistler; three grandchildren, Neil Smith, Dustin C. Smith, and Carolyn Jewel Farmer (David Farmer Jr.); three great-grandchildren, Greyson Smith, Jonathan Smith Jr. (J.J.), and Abigail Smith.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 1:00pm from Church On The Word with Pastor John Alexander officiating located at 3806 McKown Road Douglasville, GA 30134.
