Mr. Rand Burton Malmin, age 79, of Lithia Springs, GA passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Mr. Malmin was born on April 24, 1945 in Bayshore, N.Y. to the late Mr. Glenn Frederick Malmin and the late Mrs. Avis Marie Burton Malmin. Rand graduated college with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering and with a Master of Religious Education. Rand was saved at the age of 13 and was a member of Bible Way Baptist Church in Powder Springs. His faith was very important to him, and he taught at many different Christian schools over the years. In addition to teaching at Christian schools, he also taught English to children in South Korea. Rand enjoyed playing sports in high school, fishing, flying his Cessna 170 N1231D, and hunting for coins in the hills of South Korea. He married his wife, Shirley, on August 2, 1969. Shirley was an answer to his prayers and who he enjoyed flying with on different trips, working together on the mission field, and was a loving mother to their two sons, Jonathan and Philip. Rand viewed himself as a child of God and felt as though he used his talents for the Lord and where the Lord led him in life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Avis Malmin.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley Malmin of Lithia Springs; sons, Jonathan Malmin (Natasha) of Atlanta and Philip Malmin of Lithia Springs; brother, Duane Robert Malmin (Bianca) of Mesa, AZ; sister, Marcia Malmin; grandchildren, Henri James Malmin and Lauryn Sophia Malmin.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 2:00pm from Bible Way Baptist Church in Powder Springs with Pastor Randy Cape officiating. Interment to follow at 4:00pm at Victory Baptist Church Cemetery located at 4414 Hwy 92 & 166 Douglasville, GA 30335.

The family will receive friends at Bible Way Baptist Church on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.
