Mrs. Peggy Mayfield, age 72, of Powder Springs passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024 as the sun was just coming over the trees shining through the window as her heart beat the last time.

Mrs. Mayfield was born on January 26, 1952 in Meridian, Mississippi to Mr. James Evans Terry and Mrs. Annie Margaret Andrews Terry. Peggy worked for Kroger as a manager and owned Tips & Toes nail salon. She worked from home until last year when she told her last few clients, no more. Peggy loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, James Terry.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Scott Mayfield of Powder Springs; children, Trent Horne (Amy) of Acworth, Tamala Smith of Powder Springs, Terren Williams (Kelly) of Savannah, and Trevor Mayfield (Melissa) of Rockmart; sister, Kathy Boyd of Douglasville; grandchildren, Tayler Smith, Camaren Smith, Jaden Smith, Peyton Smith, Summer Horne, Brooke Horne, Johnathon Mayfield, Dakota Mayfield, Gatlin Williams, and Kessler Williams.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Bellamy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.
