Patricia Marguerite Joyce Armstrong, 95, of Dallas, GA passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Tranquility House in Kennesaw, GA.
Patricia "Patsy" Armstrong was born in Atlanta, GA on December 6, 1926 and was the daughter of Sarah Ethel Spratlin and John P. Gorman. She was an only child and spent a great deal of time with both her maternal grandmother, Paloma Spratlin and her paternal grandmother. As a child, Patsy enjoyed walking to the Fox Theater to roller skate, as well as playing with her two best friends. Patsy met the love of her life when she was seventeen years old. Marion "David" Armstrong and Patsy began dating, and they married on May 1,1944 in Atlanta, GA. They were married 64 years and have two sons: Michael David Armstrong and John Douglas Armstrong. When their children were older, Patsy and David moved to Covington, GA. While in Covington, Patsy worked for City Hall under Dr. Dobbs. She and her husband David attended First Baptist Church in Covington, GA.
Patsy and David moved to Dallas, GA in 1995. While living in Dallas, Patsy was a member of Dallas First Assembly of God and was very involved in church events and activities.
Some of her favorite past times included fishing on the lake, antique shopping, going to yard sales, visiting with neighbors, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting clocks, antiques, and yard sale treasures.
She is preceded in death by her husband Marion David Armstrong, her mother Sarah Ethel Spratlin, and her father John P. Gorman. She is survived by sons Michael David (Nancy) Armstrong and John Douglas (Madelyn) Armstrong. She is survived by 6 grandchildren: Erika (Josh) Robinson, Elyse Armstrong, Jordan (Candace) Armstrong, Joseph Armstrong, Jason (Sheena) Armstrong, and Stefanie (Tony) Armstrong, and 8 great-grandchildren. Her family will remember her vivacious personality, her sense of humor, her dancing antics, and her stories of years gone by. She was loved dearly and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00am from Dallas First Assembly of God with Rev. Rob Boyd officiating. Interment to follow at Dallas Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 18th from 5:00pm until 7:30pm.
