Obituary

Patrica Ann Deavers, age 79, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026. She was born in Paulding County, Georgia on April 2, 1946 to the late Carl and Bell Gibson. Also preceding her in death was Tommy Deavers Sr., Chester Gibson, Bennie Gibson, Christine (Bill) Gillespie, Dot (Frank) Conner and Ritha Dockins.

She first worked for many years as a waitress at Hunt's Restaurant in Marietta, where she was known and loved by customers and co-workers alike. She later joined Wellstar Kennestone, retiring in 2014 after more than 30 years of devoted service as a Diet Clerk in Food Services.

Her world revolved around her family and never missed a birthday, a holiday or a reason to celebrate someone she loved.  She was the heartbeat of the Kissing Cancer Goodbye Relay for Life Team, giving her time and spirit to the American Cancer Society. Patricia loved to travel, whether it was a big trip to the Bahamas or Hawaii, a peaceful getaway to the mountains, or a simple weekend at the campground, but nothing brought her more joy than casino trips with her family, laughing together over Blackjack and the nickel slots.

Her days were stitched together with small rituals that brought her joy, like her favorite chili dog and Diet Coke at Martin's, followed by people-watching at Walmart. Patricia kept up with family on social media, cheering them on from near and far. She loved people and people loved her right back.

A woman of great strength, gentle kindness who lived a long life shaped by love, determination, and an unmistakable sense of who she was. Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and authenticity. She taught those around her that its possible to be gentle without being weak, kind without losing yourself, and loving while still standing firm in who you are.

Survivors include her sons, who were the center of her world and loved by her with all of her heart, Tommy Jr (Debi) Deavers, Jimmy (Donna) Deavers and Michael (Ann) Deavers. Her grandchildren, they were the light of her soul, Katelyn Peffer, Heather (Scott) Dangel, Amber (Charlie Grimes) Barnett, Kimberly (Kordel) Brown, Melissa (Josh Franklin) Deavers, Kendall (Garrett) Cox and Grayson (Olivia Duckett) Deavers. Her legacy of love continues through her great-grandchildren, who will carry on her spirit and values, Kaiser Gerome Brown, Lotis Ann Barnett, Knayvie Harper Brown, Sutton Ann Franklin and Baby Cox, due in August 2026. Her sisters and outlaws, the ones that were steady and unshakeable in her life, Shirley (Larry) Palmer Merese Gibson, Faye Gibson and Mike Dockins. Nieces and Nephews that she treated as her own children.
