In Loving Memory of Neta Gwen Wheeler

Neta Gwen Wheeler, a beacon of warmth and kindness, left this world on January 24, 2024, at the age of 93. She was born to Wesley and Etta Bell Halley on December 30, 1930. She was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, wife, and friend. Her departure has left a void in our hearts, but her memory will forever be etched in the comforting embrace she provided and the joy she brought into our lives.

Neta was a pillar of strength, always radiating a reassuring presence that made you feel at home. Even at 93, she displayed remarkable strength and energy, inspiring all those around her.

A woman of remarkable talents, Neta was an incredible seamstress whose hands wove stories into every stitch. Her creations were more than fabric; they were a testament to her creativity, skill, and love.

In the kitchen, Neta's talents extended to cooking and baking. Her blueberry pancakes were legendary, and every Christmas, she would delight her loved ones with handmade candies, showcasing her devotion to creating special moments.

Neta embraced life with a contagious warmth, inviting others to share in the joy of the moment. Her legacy is one of strength, kindness, and genuine care. Her absence is deeply felt, but her loving heart has left a beacon of light for all.

Neta was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin C. Wheeler; her siblings, Nora, John Lee, Donald, Dude, James, and Nell; and her grandson, Justin Wheeler.

Neta leaves behind her loving children, Vickie (David) Webb, Renee (Gary) Newton, and Terry Wheeler; her grandchildren, Christopher Cole, Wesley Webb, Lindsay Davis, Elizabeth Yandell, Bethany Rakestraw, Amy Wagner, and Matthew Wheeler; and her many great-grandchildren.

A private celebration of Neta's life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

May Neta's spirit find peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us to embrace life with joy and kindness, just as she did.
