Nelva Kay Martin, age 66, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026. She was born on August 10, 1959 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Paul Franklin and Nelda Jean Martin. She was also preceded in death by her son, Skeeter and her brothers, Mike and Pat.

She was a beloved mother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend and grandmother (Nannygoat). Nelva is survived by her daughters, Rhoda and Mamie (Donnie), her son, Henry; her grandsons, Luke, Jake and Leland and her sisters, Pam (Ken) and Kim; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Nelva knew no strangers an was kind to everyone. If you knew her, you instantly loved her. She was full of joy and laughter. She filled our hearts with her big smile and her beautiful blue eyes. She always looked for a positive in every situation. She loved all children like they were her own and loved being in the sun, gardening, her Maxwell House coffee (4 sugars and a splash of milk), crafting of all kinds, watching documentaries and most of all her three grand boys (Luke, Jake and Leland).

Nelva bravely fought stage 4 stomach cancer for two years, and throughout her journey the Paulding County Cancer Center surrounded  her with exceptional care, love, true friendships and genuine compassion. Our family is deeply grateful for the support they provided during her fight. In keeping with her wishes, Nelva asked that instead of flowers being sent in her memory, snacks be donated to the cancer center. These snacks will be shared with the staff who cared for her so kindly and the patients who continue their own battles. This simple act of kindness reflects her generous spirit and the gratitude she carried in her heart. She was always thinking of others.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January, 31, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. from Bellamy Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia.
