Mr. Michael Edward DeRoncey, age 60, of Rockmart, GA passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Mr. DeRoncey was born on April 14, 1963 in Birmingham, AL to the late Mr. Jack Edward DeRoncey and Mrs. Martha Irene Patterson DeRoncey. Michael was the epitome of love. He was the light in every room. His heart was not only filled with the love of Christ but also for mankind. He was not swayed by nationality, ethnicity, race, or preference. His love and generosity reached people near and far. He was a true friend who embodied the attributes of Christ. Michael was God fearing, humble, loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, gentle, self controlled, and long suffering. He was comical and fun, liked to watch and feed the birds and hit golf balls around in his yard. He loved the ocean and nature. He used his construction knowledge and occupation to serve and help others. Michael was never anything more than a phone call away. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and friend. He would tell us all that he is at the feet of Jesus, happy, whole, and healed. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack DeRoncey; son, David DeRoncey, and wife, Julie DeRoncey.

Survivors include his mother, Martha Irene DeRoncey of Hueytown, AL; sisters, Kristi Julian of Murfreesboro, TN and Karen Gantenbein (Bruce) of Hendersonville, TN.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Bellamy Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 2nd from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.
