Mr. Michael Luke Bennett, age 63, of Hiram, Georgia, passed away on August 6, 2022. Michael was born September 13, 1958, in Powder Springs, Georgia, to Clarence Luke Bennett and Geneva Elizabeth Fain Bennett. Michael was the oldest son of 13 siblings. He attended Paulding County High School and retired from Lucent Technologies (AT&T) where he worked in fiber optics.

Michael is survived by nine siblings: Marilyn (Tony) Ray of Hiram, Georgia, Juanita (Roger) Yarn of Hiram, Georgia, Patricia (Renato) Porras of Hiram, Georgia, June Watts of Hiram, Georgia, Gary (Cindy) Bennett of Cummings, Georgia, Tony (Wanda) Bennett of Hiram, Georgia, Marie Sellers of Hiram, Georgia, Joyce (Shane) Holmes-Shelton of Hiram, Georgia, and Jimmy Bennett of Hiram, Georgia. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Jerry Blackston of Douglasville, Georgia, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He is pre-deceased by his daughter, Peggy Allison Bennett, parents, Luke and Geneva Bennett, sister, Sandra Blackston, brothers, Charles Bennett, and Mark Bennett.

Michael was a simple guy who cared for and loved his family and friends. He was always available to his many siblings and friends whenever he was needed, and he was needed often. He loved to gamble, work on, and sell cars, and tell a good story. He was a much-loved father, papa, brother, uncle and friend.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Bellamy Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia with Rev. Jerry Cole officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of Mike's oldest sister, Marilyn Ray, after the services are complete. Marilyn lives two houses down from the Bennett home at 301 Morris Road, Hiram.
