Mary Sue Crittenden, also known affectionately as "Memaw," passed away on September 25, 2023, in Marietta, Georgia. She was 88 years old.
Sue was born on January 3, 1935, to her loving parents William T. Daniel and Mary Provey (Gladden) Daniel and grew up with her brothers, Ed and Norman Daniel, who were her cherished family. She was known by her maiden name, Mary Sue Daniel, before marrying the love of her life, Seals Donald Crittenden. Together, Sue and Don shared a beautiful life filled with love and devotion for 65 years.
Sue's true joy in life came from being a dedicated wife, an exceptional mother, and the absolute best grandmother. Her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren lovingly referred to her as "Memaw." Sue's sweet demeanor and unwavering love for Jesus were the defining qualities that endeared her to her family and friends.
Sue's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her husband, Don, her brothers Ed Daniel and Norman and his wife, Cheryl (Crittenden) Daniel, Don's Sister; her children Scott Crittenden, Mary Beth (Crittenden) Barnes and her husband Mark, and Travis Crittenden and his wife Cindy; and her nieces and nephews Lori (Daniel) Hutson, Melissa (Daniel) Matthews, Ken Crittenden, Randy Crittenden, and David Crittenden. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren Mary Katherine (Barnes) Woodward and her husband Cordarrel, Sarah (Barnes) Smith and husband Robert, Bailey Crittenden and wife Serafina, Jackson Crittenden, and Molly Crittenden, as well as her great-grandchildren Nadiyah Barnes, Noah Woodward, Mary Madison Smith, Hannah Smith, and Noelle Woodward.
In addition to her immediate family, Sue leaves behind numerous friends and extended family members who were touched by her kindness and grace and exceptional "macaroni sauté".
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Sue's life will be held on Sunday, October 1st with Visitation at 1:00pm and Funeral Service at 2:00pm, Bellamy Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia. The burial will take place at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia on Tuesday, October 3rd at 1:00pm.
Sue's legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her unwavering faith, and her unconditional love for her family.
May her soul find eternal rest, and may her loved ones find solace in the memories they shared with her. Her life is a testimony to the grace, favor, and matchless love of Jesus Christ, which is the wonderful legacy she leaves for all to remember.
