Mary Ellen (Sticher) Bennett passed away December 4, 2014 at the age of 87.
She resided in Winnwood Retirement Home in Marietta most recently; in Hiram, GA from 1994 to July 2014; and in Smyrna, GA from 1953 to 1994.
Mary Ellen was born in Newnan, GA on December 13, 1926 to the late Eva Mae Johnson Sticher Ball and Erskine Allen Sticher. She graduated from West Fulton High School. She was married to Raymond Ralph Bennett on Jan. 2, 1945.
Mary Ellen is survived by husband R.R. Bennett and three daughters: Crystal (Cris) Force, son-in-law Ed Force, Lynn Griffin, son-in-law James Griffin, and Marie Gary. She is also survived by grandchildren Scott Griffin and wife Chrissy Griffin, Jamie Griffin Michan, Lane Force and wife Revel Force, Patrick Force, and Amanda Gary Bucha and husband Seth Bucha,; and great-grandchildren Lee Michan, Mara Force, Brynn Force, Keely Griffin, and Atlas Bucha.
Mary Ellen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived her life to love and serve her family and friends, who she always put before herself in great selflessness.
A viewing will be held at Bellamy Funeral Home in Powder Springs, GA. on Wednesday, December 10 from 5-8 PM. The funeral service will take place at Macland Baptist Church in Powder Springs, GA on Thursday, December 11 at 10 AM. Burial will be at Georgia National Military Cemetery in Canton, GA at 12:30 PM, following the funeral.
