Obituary

Mr. Larry Garcia, age 81, of Powder Springs passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021.

Mr. Garcia was born on November 7, 1939 to the late Eudoclo Garcia and the late Celia Rodriguez Garcia. Mr. Garcia served in the United States Army and was retired from the Department of Defense after 32 years working in technical support. He volunteered for 25 years at Sweetwater Valley Camp in Austell and was a member of Faith Baptist Temple in Powder Springs, where he served as the choir director for 30 years. Mr. Garcia enjoyed doing yardwork and was a softball coach for 15 years for the Powder Springs Youth Organization. He also was a chaperone for the McEachern High School Band. In addition to his parents, Mr. Garcia was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jarman Garcia and his daughter, Sarah Davis.

Survivors include his daughter, Celia and Steve Johnson of Douglasville; brother, Chano and Luella Garcia of Rome; four grandchildren, Kayla Goss (Jordan) of Powder Springs, Katherine Davis of Gainesville, Stephanie Sparks (Jarred) of Kennesaw, and Benjamin Johnson of Douglasville; five great-grandchildren, Peyton, Cayden, Jayden, Brayden, and Dante.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 10th from Faith Baptist Temple in Powder Springs at 2:00pm with Bro. Ronnie Tibbitts and Bro. Bruce Fossett officiating. Interment to follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 9th at Bellamy Funeral Home from 4-8pm.
