Mr. Kirby Eugene Southerland Jr., age 58, of Temple (Paulding County) passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022.

Mr. Southerland was born on April 12, 1963 in Dallas, GA to Mr. Kirby E. Southerland Sr. and Mrs. Sondra Mitchell Jones. Mr. Southerland worked for Greystone Power for 37 years. He was a deacon and longtime member of First Baptist Powder Springs. He was an amazing husband, daddy, and papa. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Kirby E. Southerland Sr., his son, Trey Southerland, and his sister, Jodie Southerland Paskweitz.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sherri Southerland of Temple; two daughters, Megan Southerland of Temple and Hannah Dilbeck (Cory) of Temple; mother, Sondra Jones of Dallas; two sisters, Angie Gurley (Roger) of Dallas and Kim Denton (Dorsey) of Douglasville; two grandchildren, Haisley Southerland and Sadie Southerland; as well as nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 26th at 2:00pm from First Baptist Church Powder Springs with Rev. Mike Woods and Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Mr. Southerland will lie in state at First Baptist Church Powder Springs on Wednesday from 1:00pm until the service hour. After the service, Mr. Southerland will be cremated.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 25th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
