Mr. John Albert Hamer Jr., age 90, of Marietta passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022.

Mr. Hamer Jr. was born on May 25, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Mr. John Albert Hamer Sr. and the late Mrs. Edith Stimmel. John enjoyed going to the American Legion and loved country music. He also enjoyed gardening and loved his fruit trees and blueberry bushes. He enjoyed watching Braves games, mowing grass, and playing Canasta with his family. His grand kids affectionately called him "Pap" and he loved spending time with his great-grandchildren after his retirement. He also proudly served in the United States Navy. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo McCagh Hamer and his daughter, Marlene Stevens.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda H. Hunter of Marietta; brother, Mike Hamer of Deland, FL; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at 12:00pm at Silver Springs State Park located at 1425 NE 58th Ave Ocala, FL 34470.
