JOHN R FOSTER 76 ATLANTA, GA
John R Foster, age 76 of Atlanta, GA, passed away on Aug 17, 2015. He is survived by his friend and companion Sue Pierce Fair, Sister Louise Zorn, of Phillips, WI, daughters, Suzanne Lenze (Tony), MN (Georganne Foster, Roxanne Morales (Mike), and son David Foster of Iowa, six grandchildren and 2.75 great grandchildren.
John was born in Ashland, WI, to the late E.J. "Red" and Eunice Foster. He graduated from Phillips High School and attended Wisconsin State College, Whitewater. John moved to Iowa with his family in 1968 where he started his career with Massey Ferguson.
John's true passion was music and he was an accomplished drummer. In the 70's he formed the John Foster Combo and more recently he formed the Sunny-Side Up band in Atlanta in 2014. Through the years he played with numerous bands and enjoyed the fellowship of playing with the Shrine Band for events like the circus.
His love of music led him to meeting and making music with a world of great musicians. In his travels, be it Toronto, St. Louis, Tulsa, Memphis or New Orleans, he was always able to connect with those who shared his passion.
John will be greatly missed.
