Mrs. Joan Marion Baxter, age 77, of Dallas, GA passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022.

Mrs. Baxter was born on February 6, 1944 in Atlanta, GA to the late Mr. James Edgar Matthews and the late Mrs. Mildred Margaret Smith Matthews. Joan had previously been employed with Cobb County School System as a school bus driver. She later worked for Jefferson Pilot Insurance as an insurance clerk. She attended Pebblebrook Baptist Church. Mrs. Baxter was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. James and Mrs. Mildred Matthews.

Survivors include her two sons, Brian Baxter (Theresa) and Todd Baxter; three grandsons, Jeremy Baxter, Bennett Baxter, and Parker Baxter; two great-granddaughters, Lillian Baxter and Piper Baxter.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Bellamy Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 5:00pm. Prior to the gathering, Mrs. Baxter will be cremated.

The family requests no flowers.
