Mrs. Jennie Manns, age 95, of of Dallas passed away November 21, 2014. Funeral Services will be held Thursday December 4, 2014 at 12 noon at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Jeffrey Wimbush officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the church from 11-12:00pm.

Jennie Manns was born In Columbia, South Carolina on May 29, 1919 to the late John and Jennie Wilkins. She spent her early years in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her fondest child-hood memories were those spent with her grandfather, Reverend W.H.T. Reynolds of Columbia, South Carolina.

Jennie moved to New Rochelle, New York where she received her early formal education. Later, as God would have it, she met and soon married Walter Manns in 1936. Of this union, two children were born: Cynthia and Marilyn Manns. Jennie's love for children inspired her to become a troop leader for the Brownies and Girl Scouts. She was associated with many clubs and traveled extensively. Jennie was a devoted mother and homemaker and a very loving and proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Jennie moved to Florida in 1977 where she joined the Shiloh family under the pastorate of Reverend J. W. Toomer, where she was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. The Shiloh family would be blessed with her labors in the Missionary Department, the Flower Club as Chairman of the Circle 14 Ancillary and in the planning of the church's new foyer. When the New Covenant Baptist Church was formed under the direction of Reverend Randolph Bracy in 1992, she was there in the midst. There she joined the Usher Board and later served as treasurer, which she dearly loved. She served on the scholarship and special activities committees and she loved her New Covenant family and Summer Camp Program.

Jennie is preceded in death by her husband Walter E. Manns and her daughter Cynthia Manns Washington. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Marilyn Manns Littlejohn of the British Virgin Islands; four grandchildren: Derek Washing-ton (Pamela) of New York, NY, Dr. Kim Littlejohn of Hiram, GA, Dawn Phillips of Douglasville, GA, and Alfred Littlejohn (Erica) of Hiram, GA; twelve great grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and sorrowing friends.
