James "Jim" Chester Szwarz, of Powder Springs, GA passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2024.  He was 69 years old.

Jim was born on February 25, 1954, in Amityville, NY to the late Chester Szwarz and Marie E. Blank Skirbe.  Jim relocated from New York to Florida, where he forged lifelong friendships.  He had a passion for cooking, decorating, and spending time with those he cared for.   Jim worked in a variety of roles throughout his lifetime and was an excellent salesman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his best friend, Pierre Jordy.

He is survived by his loving ex-wife, Suzanne Skidmore, with whom he remained very close; sister, Janis Nakagama; second cousin, Karen Blank; and lifelong friends Paul & Debbie Sine, Paul & Melanie Sine, Jason & Melissa Turner, Elyse Weathers, Corinne Jordy, Robin Wilder, Rebecca Jordy, PJ and Danielle Jordy, LaJean and Ralf Gruhn, and Jeff Harper .

His canine companions were dear to him. Charlie has stayed behind with Corinne, but Casey is on a long walk with him now.

Jim will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. He always made time to help others. He will be missed dearly.

Jim will be cremated and the family will host a memorial service at a later date.
