Georgia Ann Hooper

Georgia Ann Hooper passed peacefully in her home on January 2, 2024 at the age of 84.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joe Hooper; mother, Annie Bell Shelton; and sisters, Doris Ledford and Peggy Howard. She is survived by her sister, Debra Bettis; brother, Frank Petty; daughter, Sharon Hooper Givens; sons, Alan (Pam) Hooper and Glen (Stacy) Hooper; grandchildren, Billy (Tiffany) Givens and Joseph Hooper; great-grandchild, Zachary Driver; and many nieces, nephews, and countless others who were blessed with her unyielding love.

Ann was born on June 4, 1939 in Jackson County, Georgia and was later married at age 18 to her loving husband, Joe Hooper. Together, they shared three children and a lifetime dedicated to faith and the well-being of all those lucky enough to cross their path. She would go on to spend 35 years working for Lockheed Martin in various roles before retiring at age 79.

Ann's heart and door were always open in equal measure to all, and she provided such an unmatched love and compassion that many who found themselves sheltered by her wings naturally grew to know her as "mom" or "Granna." She went about this work humbly - never one to draw attention to her good deeds - quietly insisting to any who asked that such things were just "the right thing to do."

Ann's impact on her family and friends was immeasurable and irreplaceable, and her lessons in love, forgiveness, generosity, and virtue will be carried forward for generations to come.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 at 2:00pm from Paulding Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dwayne Hewett officiating. Interment to follow at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 5th from 12:00pm until 2:00pm.
