Obituary

Gary Lee Disharoon, age 78, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, in Temple, Georgia. Born on October 15, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, Gary lived a life marked by dedication, curiosity, and a deep love for family.

Gary enjoyed a distinguished 37-year career at Lockheed Martin, where his contributions included wiring one of the first C5A aircraft and later working on the F-22 Raptor Project. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic, he left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sherry Bryant Disharoon; his children, Darlene Disharoon Boyd and Jason Disharoon; and his stepchildren, Bobby Jordan and Ronald Jordan. Gary took great pride in his grandchildren—Ashlyn Van Norstran, Briana Van Norstran, Madison Kochis, and Jesse Disharoon—with Maddie holding a special place in his heart. He also shared meaningful bonds with his step-grandchildren: Christopher Crook, Tyler Jordan, Morgan Jordan, Bryant Jordan, and Adam Jordan. His legacy continues through his step-great-grandchildren: Camryn Giddons, Orion Giddons, Autumn Lee, and Nora Hatcher.

Gary is also remembered by his brother Everett (Wayne) Disharoon; niece, Danielle Stephens; nephew, Daryl Disharoon; nieces, Rhonda Disharoon and Chonda Disharoon; as well as first cousin Lamar Disharoon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry (Grady) Disharoon and Catherine Merritt Disharoon.

A passionate collector with a love for history, Gary found joy in antiques, classic cars, coins, and western films. He enjoyed music, deep sea fishing, beach trips, and cruising—pursuits that brought him peace and happiness.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Bellamy Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 12:00pm from the Chapel of Bellamy Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Bellamy officiating. Interment to follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA.
