Mr. Ernest William Mason, age 85, of Dallas passed away Friday, August 11, 2023.

Mr. Mason was born on August 27, 1937 in Blairsville, GA to the late Mr. Roy Arvil Mason and the late Mrs. Donnie Patterson Mason. Ernest was a welder and worked for 25 years with Intermodal Services and retired from Alumi Lift. He loved to read his bible. He also loved to fish and cut wood. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Lawrence Mason; brothers, Ervin Mason and Stanley Mason.

Survivors include his two daughters, Jane Cross (Ben) of Dallas and Jean Goode (Paul) of Austell; sisters, Shirley Anderson (Bill) of Blairsville, GA and Linda Mason of Villa Rica; brother, Elmer Mason (JoAnn) of Jasper; three grandchildren, Pebbles Simpson (Steven), Kenneth Cross, and Keith Cross (Jessica); five great-grandchildren, Amber McClellan (John), Thomas Simpson, Nicholas Cross, Kale Cross, and Konner Cross.

As well as stepdaughters, Sandra Wisor, Nancy Gunckel, Debra Butler, and Donna Johnson (William); stepson, Dewey Gipson (Lori); step-grandchildren, Michael Haney, Justin L. Jones, Joseph Butler, Brandon Butler, Brant Gipson, Ryne Gipson, Alaina Johnson, and Kylee Gipson; step-great-grandchildren, Alison Rohm and Logan Haney.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Bellamy Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Blalock officiating. Interment to follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 1:00pm until 4:30pm and on Tuesday, August 15th from 9:00am until 11:00am.
