Edna Earl Thomas Davis, age eighty-eight, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, December 18, 2015. Edna was born to Martin and Laura Thomas on June 12, 1927. She married the love of her life, Lonnie B Davis, on October 22, 1952.
Edna was a devoted wife, a selfless mother, and a good and faithful servant to her Lord, Jesus Christ. She was an avid gardener who insisted on spending time outdoors, continuing to do so until only a few weeks before her death.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Davis; her son, Ronnie Davis; her brother, Manning Edward Thomas; and her five sisters, Delphie Irene (Renie) Thomas Dabbs, Mary Elizabeth Thomas, Myrtle Lee (Myrtie) Thomas, Annie Laura Thomas Halsey, and Lillie Mae Thomas Waldrep.
Edna is survived by her daughter-in-law, Gloria Davis; her grandchildren, Maryssa Davis, Stephen and his wife Erica Davis; her great granddaughter, Amelia Mae (Millie) Davis; and a very close niece, Mary Jane and her husband Jimmy Kenney.
The family will receive visitors from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Bellamy Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia on Saturday, December 19. Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 20. Rev. Mike Lee and Rev. Rodney Carson officiating. Edna will be laid to rest beside her late husband at Paulding Memorial Gardens in Hiram, Georgia.
