Mr. Doris Barnes, age 93, of Dallas passed away April 23, 2019. Funeral Services will be held Sunday at 2:00pm at Bellamy Funeral Home Hiram Chapel with Rev. Dennis Bellamy officiating. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4-7:00pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Barnes, a beloved father of 6 children, was born August 4, 1925 in the little mountain town of Blairsville, GA to Ardella and Hillard Barnes. His deep love of his country was so strong he enlisted into the Navy during WWII as a teen. He left Blairsville after the service in search for a better life in Atlanta. He became a mechanic at Atlanta Paper/Mead Company and worked there over 25 years where he became a member of Local Union 527. Doris's passion was gardening and fishing which he enjoyed with his children and grandchildren. His passion was passed to many of the children and grandchildren today.

Survivors include: 5 Daughters and their husbands: Andrea Barnes, Brenda and Joe Hollis, Dianna Cokinos, Patsy and Clint Poling, Cindy and Tony Crowe; Brother – Oris Barnes; 16 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, 17 Great Great Grandchildren.
