Mr. Dennis Lamar Smeltzer, 73, of Dallas, GA, passed away on December 21st, 2023. He was born on June 6th, 1950, in Lancaster, PA, to Lamar Smeltzer and C. Lorena Smeltzer.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen Smeltzer, and his two daughters, Wendy Rodgers (Chris), Kimberly Carvotta (Kevin), and his two sons, Michael Smeltzer, and Philip Smeltzer (Jana), as well as his brother Linsey Smeltzer (Pam) and sister Joan Cherry (Mark). He also has 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and his niece and nephew. Throughout his life, he was also happily surrounded by numerous beloved dogs, cats, birds, and fish.

While most of his life was marked by his 20 years of service to the US Navy, he was also a lifelong fan of baseball (as an Orioles, Phillies, and Braves fan), and a lover of great comedies, and an avid collector. He was also a passionate Disney fan, with multiple visits and a lifelong personal friendship with Donald Duck.

He will be deeply missed and will always be loved.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at 1:00pm from Dallas Memory Gardens with Dr. Richard Holden officiating. Interment to follow at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 28th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm.
