Obituary

Mr. Delindwood Williams age 83 of Powder Springs passed away Monday July 17, 2017 at Powder Springs Transitional Care Rehabilitation. Funeral Services will be held Saturday July 22nd at 11:00am Bellamy Chapel Hiram. Rev. Dennis Bellamy officiating. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home 10am-11am.
Delindwood was born on July 1,1934 in Goldsboro, NC to Leroy and Daisy Wilson Williams. He was the sixth child of ten children and now joins his parents and six siblings who preceded him in death. He was known lovingly as "Lind" by family and friends.
His academic years were spent in Goldsboro, NC where he attended grades 1 -7 at School Street School and 8-12 at Dillard High School where he was a member of the "Future Craftsman Club" and learned skills in carpentry. Graduating in 1952.
After graduation he moved to Philadelphia, PA where he remained for most of his adult life meeting and marrying his wife Esther Reid. He was drafted and performed basic training at Fort Bragg, NC. He was Honorably discharged after serving in U.S. Army. He worked in commercial construction as foreman with John B Kelly Construction before retiring.
Delindwood's memory will be cherished forever by his wife Esther (Reid) Williams, stepson Edward Moore (Joselyn), one son David Williams, two step grandchildren, one sister Estelle Thorpe, two brothers Clarence (Mildred) and Ralph (Anita) and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
