Danny Lewis
Sanders
Mar 26, 1959 — Dec 5, 2025
Danny Lewis Sanders, age 66, of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025.
He was born on March 26, 1959, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the beloved grandson of the late Lewis Grady and Pauline Brady Sanders; and Fannie Hollifield Newberry Matthews. Danny was preceded in death by his loving mother, Ruby Shirley Newberry Sanders; Brother-in-law, David Allen Duncan; Sister-in-Law, Kathy Ann McCoy Sanders.
Danny is survived by his devoted wife of 17 years, Celda Mascardo Sanders; his father, Johnny Lewis Sanders, of Dallas; his siblings, Darlene Duncan, Kevin Sanders, Brenda and Scott Davis, all of Dallas; his niece, Samantha and Dustin Wilcox, of Monticello; nephews, Andrew and Courtney Davis of Brookhaven, Brad and Lindsay Duncan of Dallas; and great-nieces and nephews, Sarah, Jake, Nicholas, and Delilah Wilcox, of Monticello.
Danny retired from The Kroger Company October 2024 after nearly 38 years of dedicated service. Having served in many roles during his tenure, from assistant grocery manager, dairy manager and grocery manager. Danny truly enjoyed getting to know his customers and cherished the lasting relationships he built over the years.
Danny was an avid comic book, trading card, and coin collector, a hobby he carried from childhood throughout his life. He was always on the hunt for the next great find, finding joy in the thrill of the search and generously sharing his vast knowledge with everyone around him. A passionate historian at heart, Danny dedicated fifty years to genealogical research. Inspired in high school by a teacher, Mrs. Coffer, he developed a deep love for uncovering the stories of his ancestors and the mysteries they held. He delighted in connecting with older generations, listening carefully to their stories, and preserving family histories, photographs, and cherished memories. Danny was known not only for his dedication to family history but for his excitement, curiosity, and joy in sharing discoveries with relatives both near and far. His love of genealogy was matched only by his love for his family, leaving behind a rich tapestry of stories and connections that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though he has left this world, his legacy lives on in the histories he preserved, the family he cherished, and the stories he brought to life.
