Mr. Claude W. Smith, age 95, of Hiram passed away March 19, 2019. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 1:00pm at Bellamy Funeral Home Hiram Chapel with Rev. Dennis Bellamy officiating. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors Friday from 4-8pm and Saturday from 11:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith was born in Rex, GA to Manley and Georgia Smith. He grew up on a farm in Ellenwood where he lived until joining the Navy and marrying Frances Beall. They moved to Atlanta where they raised their family then moved to Hiram in 1971.
He retired from Anaconda Aluminum Company after 35 years. He was a member of Peoples Baptist Church of Dallas, GA. He loved riding his tractor, working in his garden, woodwork, camping, dancing and most of all family gatherings.
Preceded in death by: Wife – Frances Smith; Sisters – Frances Brennan, Grace Wilkerson, and Doris Patillo; Brothers – William Smith, Bradford Smith and Grier Smith.
Survivors include: Daughters – Diane Jenkins of Hiram; Sheila and Dennis Bellamy of Hiram, Patricia and Rick Moe of Marietta and Jean and Keith Frey of Douglasville. 8 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild
