Mr. Charles Isaac Sayers, affectionately known as "Chuck", age 87, of Douglasville, GA (Paulding County) went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his beloved family.
A native of Woodland, PA., Mr. Sayers was born on May 27, 1934 to the late Mr. Isaac Sayers Jr. and the late Mrs. Rose Isabelle Palmer Sayers. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and prior to his retirement, Mr. Sayers was employed with Healthdyne (now known as Phillips Electronics) and also lastly working for Tab Safe Corporation. He was a member of the Marietta First Church of the Nazarene and was married 31 years to the former Mrs. Joyce Marie Robert, who survives. Mr. Sayers was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Rose Sayers; sister, Ruth and her husband Lee Spencer; brother, Jim and his wife Marge Sayers.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Mrs. Joyce Sayers; two daughters, Kathy Jo McDuffie and her husband Craig and Kimberly Sue Plumley; two sons, Michael John Sayers and his wife Diane and David Scott Sayers and his wife Kimberly; stepchildren, Marlynn Streetman and her husband Keith, Brenda Perry and her husband Mike, and David Schmidt and his wife Jenny; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial Services for Mr. Sayers will be conducted on Saturday, December 4th at 11am from the Marietta First Church of the Nazarene located at 4341 Dallas Hwy Marietta, GA 30064 with Rev. Gerald Carnes officiating. Inurnment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family lovingly requests that memorial contributions be made to The Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org or to Marietta First Church of the Nazarene at 4341 Dallas Hwy Marietta, GA 30064.
