Carmen Denise Parkes, age 51, of Atlanta, Georgia went to be with her Lord on December 7, 2025. Carmen was born in South Bend, Indiana to the union of Melvin Parkes and Bobbi Ivory Day on December 18, 1973.

Carmen graduated from Lasalle High School. She worked for the Department of Welfare for many years along with driving for Dekalb County School Corporation.

Carmen was very loving, caring and giving. She had a heart of pure gold with a smile that would light up any room. She enjoyed and cherished her family immensely. She had a very special love for her 3 heartbeats (as she would call them) her boys that she is survived by, Elijah Q. Green, Isaiah Z. Neal and Patryk D. Wigfall.  She loved them so much. A special friend Jason Lovett who stood by her side through it all. Carmen was a awesome big sister to Melvin Charles "Chachi" and Alicia Parkes, Tonya, Deanna and Craig (Tracy)  Lovings Jr.. Carmen leaves behing her beautiful mother, Bobbi Ivory Day and her Craig "Dad" Lovings. Special niece to Marilyn Easton, Jacquelyn Moody, Patricia Fisher, Alice Anderson, Carlton Ivory, Clifford, Charles and Howard "Butch" Parkes; her go to guy Uncle Sheldon " Nip" Ivory. Carmen was sthe best Auntie to Kailin Grimes, Justise, Joshua and Jenae Lovings, T.J. Parkes. She really enjoyed sharing books, conversations and sending jewelry to her youngest niece, Ashlin Lovings.

To know Carmen was to love her. She is proceeded in death by her amazing father, Melvin Parkes and her paternal grandmother, Vivian "Big Mama" Parkes; maternal grandparents who she cherished, Alice "Mam" Ivory and Ethurel P. Ivory; uncles, Ethurel " Terry" Ivory and Keith Ivory; very special cousin, D'Shila M. Agnew.

Carmen has a host of family and friends that she loved so much, Jacquesse McClain as her best friend, you meant everything to her; Becky Williams, Brenda London and special cousins, Mattelina Plump and Eric "Tony" Evans.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bellamy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the service time.
