Mrs. Betty Jane Shadrix, age 83, of Powder Springs, GA passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Mrs. Shadrix was born on June 10, 1940 in Douglasville, GA to the late Mr. Clyde James Furr and the late Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Tolbert Furr. Betty was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Betty loved teaching, she taught in both Paulding and Cobb Counties. Working with children was her passion. She loved being a pastors wife, and she took that very seriously, and with her whole heart. She was a dedicated wife, mother , grandmother, sister and friend. She spent her adult life dedicated to her family and her Lord. She is resting now in the loving arms of Jesus and rejoicing with her husband, daughter and siblings. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Marion Shadrix; daughter, Libby Haymons; brother, Billy Furr; sister, Jean Patton; brother, Larry Furr.

Survivors include her children, Mike Shadrix (Lisa) of Powder Springs, Stan Shadrix of Lake Wise, AL, Andrew Shadrix of Hiram, Regan Berry (Garrett) of Douglasville, and Tucker Shadrix of Hiram; brother, Wendell Furr of Temple; sister, Mary Nell Pilgrim of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Mary Beth Brown (Josh), Amanda Hunt (Brittain), Anna Mobley (Joey), Hannah Shadrix, Jesse Shadrix (Lexi), Lori Coffey (Dan), Crystal Whitfield (Mike), Marshea Guenther (Chris), Marchelle McFalls (Chris), Mark Shadrix (Alex), Marshera Gualt, and Marshanda Gregory (Mike); twenty-four great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Bellamy Funeral Home with Rev. Shad Smith officiating. Interment to follow at Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 24th from 1:00pm until 3:00pm.
