Alvie Brinkley was born on January 12, 1946 in Dallas, Ga. To parents Guy and Dellie Brinkley.
He passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016. Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, Oct. 6th at Bellamy Funeral Home Chapel, Hiram, Ga. Visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 on Wed., Oct. 5th. Officiating will be his friend, Bro. Lee Ridings and his sons, AJ Brinkley (Alvie Junior) and Eric Bailey.

Alvie married Alice Brinkley in 1966 and remained married to her until her death in 2002. They enjoyed serving the Lord in ministry, watching Gaither videos and relaxing during thunderstorms.

Alvie and Alice have 3 children: Susan Brinkley, Tammy and Eric Bailey and AJ and Cindy Brinkley, all from Paulding County. Grandchildren are: Lauren Buckner, Aubrey Corbitt, Casey Brinkley, Rebekah Brinkley, Matt Bailey and Katie Brinkley, as well as 2 great grandchildren. He loved and cherished them all and they were the apple of his eye. He also leaves behind: his brother, Phillip Brinkley and 2 sisters Lynda Poole and Julia Lynn Hitchcock. All of his children, grandchildren and siblings are following in his footsteps serving the Lord and Savior.

After being saved in 1974 he and Alice attended Victory Baptist College in Louisville, KY with Bro. Gardner Gentry. Upon completion they returned to Georgia and began spending their lives in Ministry for the Lord. He was Assistant Pastor and Bus Director at Marietta Baptist Tabernacle and Bus Director at Western Hills Baptist Church as well as Grace Baptist Church. He was also Pastor at both Smyrna Baptist Church and Landmark Baptist Church. He enjoyed running bus routes, The Prison Ministry, The Homeless Ministry and Children's Church. He loved leading people to The Lord.

Alvie married Juanita Brinkley in January 2003. They enjoyed gardening, spending time with their Sunday School Class and running the Bus Ministry at Northside Baptist Church. Juanita has 3 children: Terri Snead, Elizabeth Karraker and Becky Lee, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren whom he was fond of. Juanita cared for Alvie until his death.

Alvie is preceded in death by his parents and Alice, the mother of his children. He will be deeply missed but is now in the presence of God.
