Mr. Ailton Hilton Thompson, age 88, of Hiram passed away Monday, October 18, 2021.

Mr. Thompson was born on January 8, 1933 to the late Mr. Jim Henry Thompson and the late Mrs. Dovie Mae Upchruch Thompson. Ailton enjoyed watching old westerns and was passionate about music. He also took great pride in his landscaping business. He was a member and a deacon of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Mrs. Jo Ann Thompson; one daughter, Brenda Barnswell; three sons, Larry Thompson, Lorenzo Thompson (Cheryl), and Jeffery Thompson; one sister, Virginia Dawson; one brother, A.Z. Thompson; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 25th at 11:00am from Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jeffrey Wimbush officiating. Interment to follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 24th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Mr. Thompson will lie in state at the church on Monday, October 25th from 10:00am until the service hour.
